PARAMETER IDENTIFICATION

Parameter identification (or rather system identification of the flight dynamic model and parameter estimation) is widely regarded the best approach for the development of aircraft specific mathematical models in flight simulation. Such models are required for the qualification of flight simulators with a high level of realism (Level 6, FFS).

This method is based on data gathered during a flight test campaign consisting of adequate flight maneuvers. The model is then validated to meet the requirements of the sought qualification level.
